WWOOF Nepal Earthquake Appeal

4

On the 25th of April a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal and its surrounding countries. The earthquake has taken the lives of 7000 people, with twice as many injured and hundreds of thousands left homeless. It is the most powerful disaster to hit the country since the 1934 Nepal-Bihar earthquake. The images and videos are truly heartbreaking, and the impact of the earthquake has shaken the entire world.

WWOOF Nepal Coordinator Fanindra is currently on the ground, experiencing all the chaos and destruction first hand. He strives to aid his fellow man and support his WWOOF hosts in any way possible. There is an immediate need for water, food and shelter. To help alleviate this dire situation, WWOOF Nepal is taking donations to help the people that so desperately need it.

Donate below to the WWOOF Nepal Earthquake Appeal, knowing that 100% of the donation will be used immediately and with extreme gratitude. Every cent will be spent where it is needed most, so please consider donating, as even the smallest amount could prove invaluable to those suffering.

To put things in perspective; if every WWOOF member donated a mere $2, that would mean $200 000 for the people of Nepal.

Donations can be made here.

  2. Swimmer, I just spoke with a colleague stetionad at the summit who told me of only one lake related incident. Apparently one gentleman who had enjoyed a few too many drinks fell into the lake when the quake hit, screamed and16a0 tried to tread water for several minutes until a security guard walked into the lake, tapped him on the shoulder and told him to stand up. He left the scene with only his pride injured.
